Aims and Scope

Science Education International (SEI) is the quarterly journal of the International Council of Associations for Science Education (ICASE). ICASE was established in 1973 to extend and improve education in science for all children and youth by assisting member associations throughout the world. Our online ISSN is 2077-2327. This journal does not have a print ISSN.

The SEI journal provides a means for associations, institutions, centres, foundations, companies, and individuals concerned with science education to share perspectives, concerns, ideas, and information that will foster cooperative efforts to improve science education, and which will serve as a chronicle of the advancement of science education throughout the world.

SEI publishes scholarly papers that focus on the teaching and learning of science in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education. It published papers in research and practice. SEI accepts potential contributions from any country provided that the author(s) explain how their contexts and/or content impacts and/or has significance to a global readership.

SEI has a particular focus on research relevant to educational practice, guided by educational realities in systems, schools, colleges, and universities. While the SEI journal publishes papers four times a year; from time to time, a special issue, guest-edited by one or several acknowledged experts, is devoted to a topic of major interest and importance.

SEI is primarily concerned with science education but also publishes papers in which science or science education is integrated with other disciplines, such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Submissions that are concerned with pure science with no links to science education or related educational matters will not be considered for publication. Authors with any questions about the likely acceptability of a paper are invited to contact the Editor before making a submission.
